A magnet always only covers the 18/0 and 18/4 cutlery (18/10 cutlery contains too much nickel and is therefore NOT magnetic). Note: blades are always magnetic! The cutlery magnet ring consists of a funnel made of plastic that you can place on the garbage can. This is very easy to keep clean.
